With iRacing Season 3 2026 iRacing already underway, now is the time to think carefully about where you spend your credits. Buying a car or track that only shows up in one or two series is money down the drain; picking the ones that repeat throughout the schedule multiplies the value of every purchase. Here's the full calendar breakdown so you know exactly what's worth having.

Before we dive in, it's worth a quick reminder of how the iRacing Credits system works. Complete a season with enough official races and iRacing refunds credits iRacing based on your participation level. The more series you can run with the same car or track, the more official races you can stack across different championships and hit the threshold that gets those credits back. In short: content that appears in many series doesn't just give you more to race, it can help fund your next purchase.

The Sports Car picks that dominate the schedule
If you can only pick one car family for Season 3, the answer is straightforward: any GT3 homologated in iRacing. The Sports Car calendar shows GT3s appearing in up to 10 different series this season, from the GT Sprint Series by Simucube to the GT3 Challenge Fixed by Fanatec, plus the IMSA Endurance Series, the Global Endurance Tour, the IMSA iRacing Series, the iRacing DTM Series and all three branches of the iRacing GT3 Regional Tour (Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe). If you've been around iRacing for a while, you probably own one already; if not, it's the best possible starting point.
Within the GT3 class, the Ford Mustang GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) stand out because they also appear in some Class B series and the Rain Master Challenge, adding two or three extra appearances over the rest of the GT3 field. If you're picking just one to start, either of them covers the widest possible range.
Outside the GT3 world, the second most valuable group is GT4. The Ford Mustang GT4 specifically appears in 5 different series: the GT4 Falken Tyre Challenge, the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, the IMSA Sportscar Endurance Challenge, the Sports Car Challenge by Falken Tyre and the Creventic Endurance Series. The rest of the available GT4s (Mercedes-AMG GT4, BMW M4 GT4, Aston Martin Vantage GT4, Porsche 718 GT4 and McLaren 570S GT4) share the same count, so any of them work. At that point it purely comes down to whichever one you enjoy driving most.
The Formula Car picks with the most series
In the open-wheel side of things, the field is a lot more spread out, but two names stand above the rest. The FIA F4 appears in four different series: the three branches of the FIA F4 Esports Regional Tour (Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe) plus the FIA Formula 4 Challenge Fixed. Four series with the same car is a very solid number for single-seaters, where variety is higher and each series tends to use its own vehicle.
El Dallara F3 follows closely with four appearances too: the Formula C Dallara F3 Series (Open), the Formula C Dallara F3 Series Fixed, the Formula A Grand Prix Tour Fixed and the iRacing Formula A Grand Prix Tour. If you're into the F3-style single-seaters that real drivers use before stepping up to Formula 2, this is your car for the season.
On top of that, if you're still finding your feet with open-wheelers, the Super Formula Lightsis worth a personal recommendation. It's a fast and genuinely fun car if open-wheel racing is your thing.
The most cost-effective tracks
Cars are half the equation, tracks are the other half. And the Season 3 calendar data here is pretty clear-cut.
El Virginia International Raceway is by far the most-used track across both Sports Car and Formula Car combined: it appears in 30 different series. Thirty. If you can only buy one track this season and you don't already own it, this is the one. It covers everything from Rookie series all the way to Class A, and it shows up in GT3, GT4, formula and endurance. The return on investment per euro spent is the highest in the entire catalogue.
Close behind are Watkins Glen International and Road America, both with 26 appearances on the calendar. Both are iconic American circuits, present across virtually the entire Sports Car series spectrum and well represented in formula too. If you already own VIR, these two are next on the list.
El Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari at Imola closes out the top four with 25 appearances, making it the most-used European circuit of the season. Its presence in GT3, GT4, single-seaters and endurance makes it a very solid purchase for those who prefer European-style layouts.
Rounding out the top five, Okayama International Circuit clocks 23 appearances, making it the most cost-effective Asian track on the calendar. It's particularly popular in Asia Pacific series and Rookie events, so if you race in those time slots, it's practically essential.
From there, the Road Atlanta (20), Suzuka (19) and Spa-Francorchamps (18) round out the group of tracks appearing in more than 15 series. Suzuka and Spa are two of the most popular circuits in iRacing overall, so if you still don't own them, this season is a good excuse to fix that.
The quick summary
If you need to prioritise purchases for Season 3 2026 and want to maximise both available races and your chances of generating iRacing Credits at the end of the season, here are the key picks based on the full calendar breakdown:
- Sports Car: any GT3 (the Ford Mustang GT3 or the Porsche 992 as first choice), the Ford Mustang GT4 if you want the GT4 class.
- Formula Car: the FIA F4 if you prefer entry-level single-seaters, the Dallara F3 if you want the next step up, or even the Super Formula Lights.
- Tracks: Virginia International Raceway as the absolute priority, followed by Watkins Glen, Road America and Imola, plus the classics Road Atlanta, Suzuka and Spa-Francorchamps. These never disappoint.
With these purchases sorted, across the 12 weeks of the season you'll be able to switch between series without having to sit out every time the calendar moves to a new track. And with a bit of consistency, the iRacing Credits you get back at the end of the season should make your next purchase considerably cheaper.
