A few days ago, as usual, a major iRacing development update was released, extensively discussing the new changes the simulator will undergo for the upcoming season. Let's remember that we are about to switch to Season 3.
Officially confirmed by the manufacturers of these cars, two new GT3s will be added to the simulator.
- Ford Mustang GT3
- Corvette Z06 GT3.R GTD Pro
Both vehicles are planned to be released in the month of June, specifically on June 3rd for the new Mustang GT3. Here are some specifications about these vehicles:
Ford Mustang GT3
The Ford Mustang GT3 is a racing car developed for the GT3 category. It's equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine based on the Coyote, tuned to comply with GT3 regulations. The carbon fiber body reduces weight and improves aerodynamics, while the optimized chassis ensures an ideal weight distribution and low center of gravity.
The vehicle features double wishbone suspension both at the front and rear, ventilated disc brakes, and an advanced electronic management system to optimize performance. Additionally, it comes with a six-speed sequential gearbox.
Corvette Z06 GT3.R GTD Pro
The Corvette Z06 GT3.R is a racing car designed for the GTD Pro category. It utilizes a 5.5-liter V8 LT6 engine with a dry sump, derived from the production Corvette Z06. Its carbon fiber body optimizes aerodynamics and reduces the total weight of the vehicle.
The chassis is designed for balanced weight distribution and precise handling, complemented by double wishbone suspension on both axles. It is equipped with high-performance ventilated disc brakes and a six-speed sequential gearbox. The advanced electronic management allows for precise adjustments for different race conditions.
At first glance, these are the new GT3 category vehicles that will be added in Season 3 of iRacing, starting in June of this year.
